Self Compassion for Uncertain Times

We have found ourselves in unprecedented times, which for many, has caused our every day life to be completely turned on its head.

This has caused an increase in feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, depression and isolation, causing our emotions to feel like we are on a daily roller coaster ride against our will.

As we learn to navigate this new ‘normal’, it can be tough some days not to get down on ourselves for not getting it ‘right’. We strive to be the perfect wife, partner, mother, daughter, sister, friend and businesswoman, and in doing so, we abandon our relationship with our Self.

Compassion is something that we are great at when we are showing it to other people, but how are we showing it to our Self, especially during this time of uncertainty and stress?

In this presentation, Sheila will demystify what self compassion is and what it isn’t. We will look at the benefits of developing loving kindness for ourselves and how we can meet with any difficult emotions that may be coming up during this unique moment in history that we find ourselves in. Sheila will introduce you to a mindfulness activity that you can do on your own that will help slow down the ‘monkey brain’, bring you into the present, so you can deal with whatever is going on in your world with a sense of calmness.
